Craig’s List fiasco

Ok, I guess the time has come for a little bit of political opinion here on my blog, and not just sex talk all the time ;)

Craig’s List is getting rid of its “Erotic Services” category after getting tons of flack in the press. Now hookers will just have to go back to posting in the “No Strings” section like they did before CL created the erotic services category.

I just can’t believe how completely the media has missed the point on this. What should have come out of this whole thing is that, if prostitution was decriminalized and working girls didn’t fear law enforcement, then the first person he robbed would have called the cops and the creep wouldn’t have been able to hurt anyone else.

How they met is irrelevant. If he called and agency in the phone book, would they be going after the yellow pages to get rid of the “escorts” listing? I can’t understand how this whole thing became about Craig’s List instead of about how to protect people from being preyed on.

And that’s what I think about that.
